When you enter Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church during our open service hours, you are immersed in a completely unique experience. From the domed basilica architecture to the iconography adorning the walls and windows, the Church is designed as a reflection and embodiment of many of the fundamental beliefs of the Orthodox Church. For two decades, Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church has been the heart of the Orthodox community in Austin, Texas. We invite you to be a part of our family and worship with us.
Our Parish History
Learn how a few Greek Orthodox families from Austin, TX came with the inclination toward starting the first Greek Orthodox Church in the growing State Capital area and how we grew to be the community we are today.
In preparation for the Consecration of our parish, we prepared a number of resources, including articles and lesson plans on the meaning of the Consecration service and on the lives of the Holy Martyrs who were interred in our altar. In the event that these resources are useful to you, we offer them here.
New Mount Tabor
In order to keep pace with the growth of our parish and our youth ministry programs, we are planning to expand by building a new community center at the top of our hill. Come learn more about our expansion plan.
