HOLY HOUSE – Wednesday, October 25

It’s that time of year again! Holy House is coming! Every year, our teens put together skits to teach stories from the Bible, and the parish — old and young — comes together for some fun! It’s a night of costumes, candy, and good clean fun. Join us!

If you have teens who would like to be involved, email Amity Garwood at amity_garwood at hotmail.com  No acting experience is required!  We have the costumes — they’ll just show up and join their friends as they re-enact tales from the Gospel.

If you have younger children, dress them in their costumes (nothing too terrifying or creepy, please) and get ready!

We’ll begin with a short prayer service in the church, followed by a potluck dinner (bring a lenten dish!) and then we’ll enjoy the skits and the running around!  There will be CANDY.

Bringing Your Brokenness

Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church is offering a new restoration and recovery ministry for those who have, or consider themselves to have, a life-debilitating issue. These issues may be interfering with your life and may result in, or be the result of, a habitual sin which needs healing in order for you to live your life in Christ. They can range from anxiety or panic disorders, eating disorders, checking internet or social media to the point of shutting out your family, or to drug or alcohol addiction.

Open to individuals and couples, meetings will be held bi-monthly on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm in the church. We are studying the book “Truly Human: Recovering Your Humanity in a Broken World” by Kevin Scherer, which is available in our bookstore. Our goal is to provide a loving Orthodox Christian atmosphere for support, accountability, study, and discussion, with the ultimate goal of restoring our souls and bodies to the image and likeness of God.

Our next meeting will be Thursday, November 9.
